The World Green Organization (WGO) partnered with Dah Sing Bank in their annual GreenWALK event to promote a healthier lifestyle and reduce our carbon footprints.

This annual event takes participants on a scenic walk through Hong Kong’s Stunning countryside while highlighting the city's environmental challenges and initiatives. Walkers learned about waste management, conservation efforts, and sustainable transportation options.

In last year’s GreenWalk Hong Kong Campaign. WGO and Dah Sing Bank continued their annual tradition of promoting a healthier, low-carbon lifestyle by encouraging participants to walk more rather than take public transportation.

One highlight of this year’s campaign was the City Orienteering Competition Cum Carnival, which saw participants searching for sightseeing spots while tracking and translating the number of steps taken into measurable, real-world carbon reductions.

Through the ‘Dah Sing Bank 75th Anniversary Charity Challenge’, Dah Sing Bank donated $750,000 to five green charities selected by the ambassadors who recorded 250 million steps by the end of the campaign, significantly exceeding the target of 750,000 steps.

Sustainable Business Award 2021

From 2016 onwards, all the listed companies in Hong Kong are required to comply with the new ESG reporting guidelines to enhance business transparency on their social responsibility. This acts as an important incentive to urge those enterprises to develop a better sustainable development strategy.

To raise local businesses’ awareness of the importance of their contribution in ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance), the World Green Organisation (WGO) has initiated an award scheme, namely The Sustainable Business Award to recognise corporations that have put efforts and contributions in the following assessment categories: Workplace Quality, Environmental Protection, Operation Practice and Community Involvement.

The World Green organisation hosted their seventh annual “Sustainable Business Award 2021” ceremony at the Cyber Arena on the 30th Nov 2022.
